Friends

Being a child of a service member for the majority of my life, I have experienced many interesting and enlightening moments, learned an innumerable number of lessons, and found that my perspective of the world has been forever altered by said lifestyle. These blog posts will cover ten different ways that being a military child has impacted my life.

Making friends can be a challenge when you do move and travel at the extent a military family does. Often, you will be friends with someone for several years before having to relocate somewhere and be in contact only by long distance. But the wonderful thing about this is the depth of friendships I get to share. To talk to each other, we make the extra effort to reach out and communicate. Some of my favorite high school memories involve sitting for hours on Skype phone calls talking to my friends who lived all across the south east USA. We would chat until the wee hours of the morning about our days, lives, and all the things we were learning. In turn, the distance seems to have given us a better friendship than I ever would have imagined.
