Being a child of a service member for the majority of my life, I have experienced many interesting and enlightening moments, learned an innumerable number of lessons, and found that my perspective of the world has been forever altered by said lifestyle. These blog posts will cover ten different ways that being a military child has impacted my life.
One of the awesome things about attending military events and going to many different places is that life becomes a constant state of learning. The direct opportunities are provided to me to learn new skills. I have learned how to sew, knit, crochet, play guitar & ukulele, and more all throughout my experience. In addition, I was given the opportunity to act for the first time in 2016. I played Sleeping Beauty in a musical that was completely created, directed, and completed in 5 days. I never would have gotten to be in a play if it wasn’t for the military youth services arranging for the theater company to visit. Throughout my 18 years as a military child, I have had the best time learning and growing in myself through the amazing chances provided to me by the military youth workers.
