Being a child of a service member for the majority of my life, I have experienced many interesting and enlightening moments, learned an innumerable number of lessons, and found that my perspective of the world has been forever altered by said lifestyle. These blog posts will cover ten different ways that being a military child has impacted my life.
One of the wonderful things about having a father with a job in the military is the ability to travel and see so many different corners of our country. So far, I have visited over thirty other states in the span of my short 18 years. This summer, my family and I were lucky enough to be selected to attend the Operation Purple camp in Grand Teton National Park in Wyoming this summer. To maximize our journey, our family decided to turn this into a “good ole’ fashioned road trip.” We rented a car and took the journey across the country. I stopped in 11 new states I had never been to before, traveled over thousands of miles, and met so many wonderful people. Being military allows for this frequent travel and these amazing opportunities. The people you meet along the way impact you so much; it is impossible to walk away from these experiences unchanged.
